The Aberrant Focus of Pentecostalism
On the day of Pentecost, the day on which Jesus sent the Spirit
in power, the historical account tells us that about 3,000 souls were
added to the church that day (Acts 2:41).
But what then?
What was the focus of the newly added converts?
Were they focused on dreams, visions, prophesying and speaking in tongues? Not at all!!

“And they (the new converts) devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)In other words, If Pentecostals were truly modeling their churches on the details of the church of Pentecost then they wouldn't be focused on speaking in tongues, dreams and visions and all other such distractions. Instead, they'd be devoted to the Apostle's teaching (found in the Word of God), fellowship, the breaking of bread (the Lord's Supper) and the prayers.
