SBC's Kay Warren and Beth Moore's Crime Against God!

BETH MOORE PREACHES SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE AT LOUIE GIGLIO’S PASSION CITY CHURCH

Christian Research Network is a sister work of Apprising Ministries. Today CRN Associate Editor Erin Benziger of Do Not Be Surprised… exposes a serious problem concerning wildly popular Southern Baptist Bible teacher Beth Moore, women acting in the role of elders.
This issue is about to detonate within contemporary evangelicalism so you’d best decide whether you’ll stand in line with God’s Word against this influx of antichrist women pastries or whether you’ll bow before the bankrupt wisdom of man:
This past Sunday, 1 July, Louie Giglio turned over his pulpit to popular Bible teacher Beth Moore. Giglio, who pastors Passion City Church in Atlanta and is the founder of the Passion Conference, was in Australia for the 2012 Hillsong Conference when he called upon Moore to be his Sunday substitute.
Moore, a well-known SBC Bible teacher, is the founder of Living Proof Ministries. While her Bible studies typically are aimed at women, it seems that her audience at Passion City Church was a mixed one.
The sermon is available on Passion City Church’s website here, and Moore can be heard addressing the men in the audience within the first ten minutes of the message. One blogger who attended Passion City that day reports that approximately 700 people were in line for the 4:00 pm service, the second service of the day.
In May of this year, another female leader within the SBC, Kay Warren, was found preaching Sunday services at her own Saddleback church, as well as at the Crystal Cathedral. At that time, CRN noted that the biblical admonition against women teaching men and being ordained as pastors within the church can be found in places such as 1 Timothy 2:11–14:
Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. (1 TIM. 2:11–14), ESV
According to The Southern Baptist Convention’s Baptist Faith & Message, the SBC would agree with this biblical standard:
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. In such a congregation each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.
THE BAPTIST FAITH & MESSAGE, VI. THE CHURCH
While Passion City Church is not affiliated with the SBC, Beth Moore is perhaps one of the SBC’s most well-known female authors and Bible teachers. The seeming disregard for something about which the Bible is explicit, then, is unfortunate and more than a little worrisome.
